From the Board of Directors

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to announce the formation of a parent-fueled non-profit organization, the Desert Youth Ballet Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to support and encourage the appreciation of ballet and music. Some of the ways that the Desert Youth Ballet Foundation will further this purpose include funding scholarships, fundraising, applying for grants available to Arts- and Youth-based programs, sponsoring ballet performances and workshops, and providing newsletters and other educational opportunities.

The current board of the Desert Youth Ballet Foundation is Jean Zubieta, Angela Leonard, Tamra Blankenship, AnnMarie Whitley and Susan Laughlin. We all are excited to be a part of this new foundation and believe it will greatly enrich the ballet community. We also believe the foundation will enhance the educational experience for every ballet student by tapping into the talents and knowledge of everyone who values the art of ballet, including parents, students and community members. We welcome your participation and support!

There will be many opportunities to learn more about the Desert Youth Ballet Foundation and hopefully everyone will get involved in this exciting program.

Thank you for your support,

Jean Zubieta
